Attention RNs: Continuing Education hours are not approved for IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal courses according to BRN directive. Please click HERE for the official State of California BRN webpage listing “Unacceptable Courses.”

Only LVNs can be legally certified by us. All other healthcare providers will receive a certificate of completion.

REQUIREMENTS:

The state of California requires each LVN student to perform 3 live venipunctures in addition to multiple fingers sticks on each other. Practical testing on fellow LVN students is required. This is optional for RNs. Safety issues & possible complications are covered prior to hand-on. A proxy may be brought in your place if the student cannot have a live stick performed for whatever reason.

If you cannot be stuck & you do not have access to a proxy, you will not be able to participate in the live stick portion of the course, which will result in non-certification.

LVNs with valid VN #'s will be issued an IV Therapy/Blood Withdrawal Certificate upon successful completion of this course. LVNs w/ pending numbers or students will receive a temporary certificate of completion that may be shown to current or potential employers as proof of course completion. These students must provide IV Experts with/ a valid VN #. All State paperwork will be sent to the BVNPT by IV Experts on student's behalf upon successful course completion. Student will receive the original documents and certificate for their records.

Medical release: A medical release from your physician is required if you are pregnant or have any other medical condition that would prevent you from participating in the live testing portion of this course.

Clinical Session Expectations: Any time missed due to lateness must be made up at the end of the course to prevent your certified status at a State level from being delayed, or if a student misses a significant amount of course time he or she will need to be rescheduled.

Please wear closed-toed shoes for clinical portion
